We went to Mendocino Farms craving their BLT and were so excited to eat one again.  I gazed at the menu in disbelief as it was no longer there.  I asked the gal at the counter what happened to the BLT and she said they change the menu based on the season.  After the shock wore off, I ordered the Chimichurri Steak and Bacon Sandwich.  Roasted, carved steak and Applewood smoked bacon topped with marinated red peppers, caramelized onion jam, chimichurri, shredded romaine, herb aioli on a toasted sesame roll.  Oh yeah...with all that going on it just had to be good and it was.  Loved it.  My Wife loves the Avocado and Quinoa Superfood Ensalada with chopped romaine, curly kale, quinoa & millet, housemade superfood krunchies, succotash with roasted corn, black beans, jicama, red onion, cilantro, cotija cheese, grape tomatoes, avocado and chipotle vinaigrette.  She also added Chicken.

My Wife absolutely loved the Avocado and Quinoa Salad at Mendocino Farms in San Diego and San Jose. She raved that it was the best salad of her life.  I decided to replicate the salad at home and it came out pretty darn good.  She loved it for dinner and lunch.

Few restaurants have impressed the entire family like Mendocino Farms.  My Wife and Daughter discoverd this place while shopping in San Diego.  They raved about the Salads and Heirloom Tomato BLT.  Both said they were the best salad and sandwich they have ever tasted.  When they saw a Mendocino Farms on Santana Row they immediately said we are eating there.  I reluctantly agreed because it was two against one.  We stood in line a bit and then ordered at the counter.  We were given a number for our table and we sat outside.  The food was delivered and devoured.  I had the Mendo's Chicken Cobb Salad with a nice glass of Chardonay.  The salad was great.  My gals were right.  This place is legit.  My Wife went for the Avocado and Quinoa Superfood Ensalada which she says is the best salad of her life.  She liked it so much that we replicated it at home already.  My Daughter had the Watermelon Poke Salad with Grilled Tofu.  She too raves about it being the best. Salads here are great but what really blew us away was the Heirloom Tomato BLT.  Yes this was one of the best sandwiches of my life.  Totally amazing with the extra thick fresh Tomato.  I have craved this sandwich everyday since tryng it.  Wish they had a Mendocino Farms in Hawaii because we would be great customers.
