If you are looking for a great place to eat in Kona, I highly recommend Quinn's Almost by the Sea. This local favorite is not fancy and does not require you to dress up in your best Aloha attire. It is a casual bar and restaurant that easily makes my "favorites" list. The food here shines with quality and fresh ingredients. The Fish and Chips has to be the Best in Hawaii. The Fish Sandwich is definitely my favorite and it IS THE BEST FISH SANDWICH IN THE STATE OF HAWAII. I ordered my Fish Sandwich with Cheese and Avocado and my goodness, the flavors were "off the hook". The sandwich comes with Fries but I went for the Pineapple Cole Slaw and it was delicious. You can put the Pineapple Cole Slaw on the Fish Sandwich and really kick up the flavor. Cannot tell you how good this sandwich is. Just the bomb! My co-worker ordered the Fish and Chips and the portion was huge. Fish was fresh and battered to perfection. Dip it into the homemade tarter sauce and it is fish heaven. Gotta be the Best Fish and Chips in the State. The Steamed Clams were also delicious with a nice broth and some incredible Garlic and Cheese Toast on the side. The Fresh Seared Sashimi was also super delicious and fresh. Doesn't really get any better than Quinn's Almost by the Sea. When visiting Kona, I would put this place on the "must eat" list for sure. Cannot wait for my next business trip to Kona because my business lunch will be at Quinn's!
