Our new Fujitsu television commercial made its World debut today during the Super Bowl. The spot ran six times during the Pre-Game and In-Game on KHON2 Fox Network. This commercial was produced and directed by Greg Davis at KHON2 in Honolulu. The script was written by myself and former University of Hawaii and Philadelphia Jets Player, Rich Miano. Also in the spot are ex Hawaii and NFL players Maa Tanuvasa (2 Super Bowl Championships with Denver Broncos), Leonard Peters and Nate Ilaoa. The Secretary in the spot is the beautiful Monica Hamada and the Star is former Miss Hawaii and Miss USA Runner Up Chelsea Hardin. And of course Keli is in the spot looking good as always. This is a sequel to our first Football commercial that featured Rich Miano and former Hawaii football players. In the first spot, University of Hawaii legend Colt Brennan throws an interception in the big game to a peewee team. I saw a photo of Chelsea Hardin competing in the Miss USA pageant and went to work on a commercial that could feature her beauty.
Thanks to Rich Sheriff, General Manager of the Stan Sheriff Center at the University of Hawaii. We used Rich's office to film the spot. My sincere thanks to all of the great people who helped make this commercial. I truly love them all and am very blessed to have them in my life.
O.K. a Pizza chain based in the Philippines opens up a restaurant adjacent to Costco in Honolulu.
This is how bad the Pizza scene is in Hawaii. A Filipino company enters the market because you cannot get good pizza in this town. Yellow Cab Pizza took over the old Quiznos spot which sits in the Costco parking lot. Now lets think about this. Costco sells some pretty good pizza just a stones throw away and for around $10 per pie. The same Pizza at Yellow Cab is $19. So you are paying double the price. Is Yellow Cab Pizza worth twice the price of a Costco pie? Answer: Nope.
We ordered the New York's Finest ($18.95). This Pizza includes Sausage, Ham, Pepperoni, Ground Beef, Black Olives, Onions and Peppers. After ordering at the window, our Pizza was delivered smoking hot to our table. I was ready to dig in but found that the slices were not cut through. Had to get a knife and cut through the dough to separate the pieces. This got kind of messy. First thing I noticed was the dough was not thin and crispy. It was very light white on the bottom. Wish you could order the crust well done. Flavor of the Pizza was good but compared to the $10 Costco Pizza I don't think I would pay extra for the Yellow Cab Pizza. Yellow Cab does sell beer and wine so this may be a good choice if you want to enjoy some adult beverages with your Pizza.

I don't get up to the Oahu Country Club much for breakfast. Probably less than a half dozen times in five years. With my Daughter taking an early morning lesson on the weekend, we decided to take time to enjoy breakfast together and talk a little about golf and some of her interests. After this breakfast though I may be here more often breakfast. Absolutely LOVED the Sunrise Benedict.
This take on traditional Eggs Benedict features Roasted Turkey, Tomato, Avocado and Hollandaise Sauce. My goodness was this delicious. The flavors just exploded with the fresh Tomatoes, Avocado and Roasted Turkey. It was love at first bite and I wished that I would have gone for the full order instead of just the half order. Total satisfaction in a meal which I can say rarely happens. My Daughter came up with her own dish ordering plain toast topped with bananas. The waitress was a bit surprised when she ordered this but smiled and had it made in the kitchen. My Daughter said that this was a "great" combination. This meal was special not just for the food but for the time I got to spend with my Daughter on the golf course and having a rare breakfast together. Hope to enjoy this type of morning and breakfast more often!

We had not been up to the Oahu Country Club in awhile so we headed up on a Saturday night to see if Waolani Windows was still serving up delicious food. As we entered the second floor restaurant overlooking Downtown Honolulu we were pleased to see that the Club has added a new bar at the entrance to Waolani called 1906. This was the year Oahu Country Club was founded. The small bar and seating area serves up specialty cocktails and Pupu's in a relaxed environment and is a nice place to start your evening when dining at Waolani Windows. Our dinner began with Grilled Octopus which was good but a bit overcooked and rubbery. The Ahi Sashimi was fresh and delicious and we like the slices of Avocado served with the Sashimi. The golf leaf however is not necessary. Just give me quality, fresh Sashimi with some Soy Sauce and Wasabi and I am very happy. No need to add the gold. We always enjoy the Caesar Salad here. Served with a Poached Egg and Parmesan Crisp. The Onion Soup was delicious but the Lobster Bisque tasted like Tomato Soup and was not good. The star of this meal was the Braised Beef Ravioli with Mushrooms and Foie Gras. Perfection on a plate and a dish that I would order over and over again. The Foie Gras melts like butter and when tasted with the Ravioli, Braised Beef and Mushrooms is heaven.
