I liked Loteria Grill years ago when we visited Los Angeles and I still like it now after another visit. I ordered Shrimp Tacos ($12.25). You won't see prices on the menu board but there is a written menu near the cash register that shows pricing. Thought the tacos were a bit expensive but they were absolutely delicious. The Chili Relleno ($13) was cooked perfectly and delicious.

Me and my Daughter liked Fritto Misto while my Wife was disappointed with her dish. The menu here is huge so there is a lot to chose from. Thought the prices were very fair for the size of portions and location. We started with the Caesar Salad which was big enough for all three of us to enjoy. Cold and crisp the way I like a salad. My Daughter ordered Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and the portion was huge. She liked it so much that she almost single handily finished the entire plate. The next day she was craving this pasta again. I ordered the Chicken Marsala and was blow away by the portion size. I liked it and only could finish about a third of the plate. My Wife ordered the Spicy Shrimp Ravioli. The dish came with Chicken on top which surprised her but the waiter pointed out that it says this on the menu. The dish was not spicy at all and she did not seem to like it. Not eating it, the waiter picked up on this and asked if everything was ok. My Wife did not say much and the waiter offered to make her something else. I thought this was nice. The waiter comped our dessert which was also very nice. I liked the fast paced vibe, prices, service and food here and would not hesitate to return when visiting Santa Monica.

Made a quick stop into Philippe's during our trip to Los Angeles. Arrived after the large lunch crowd and did not have to wait in line. Quickly ordered a Beef and Lamb Dip plus a Pastrami Sandwich with a side of Cole Slaw. Had our sandwiches in minutes. Liked them all!

You will find Del Frisco's Grille directly across the street from the Santa Monica Pier. Cross the street and you are in the restaurant which features indoor seating, large bar and outdoor patio overlooking the Pier and Ocean Avenue. We found the food and service here to be good. We went for a non-meat diet on tis visit so I would love to return to try some different dishes. I ordered the Parmesan Lemon Sole and it really didn't thrill me. My Daughter for some reason did not like the Sliced Ahi Tuna. I think it was the bed of cold noodles that turned her off.

If you are near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), I would highly recommend checking out Tito's Tacos. Tito's has become a habit for our family and this visit only made me want to come back again. Tito's sells Tacos by the box load. The wait in line either inside or outside is worth it as soon as you lay your eyes on the mountains of cheese, Tortilla Chips and fresh Salsa inside your brown box. I love Tito's Tacos. They are simple yet so delicious. The corn tortillas are filled with Shredded Beef and then deep fried. Next comes fresh Lettuce and Cheese. Thats it. Top the tacos with the Salsa and it is heaven. While I have tried other items here like the Burritos, Tostadas, Tamales and Enchildas, it is only the Tacos that I crave and want to eat. Worth a detour out of LAX for sure!
