I love the look and feel of the Carolina Hotel at Pinehurst. Old Southern charm and so much golfing history. The walls here are filled with photos of some of golf's greatest moments. Everyone in the game has played and stayed here. The staff is gracious and accommodating. While the rooms are large they lack insulation so you can hear EVERYTHING around you. People next door snoring, talking, laughing plus any activity in the hallways. There were a few nights that I was looking for ear plugs. The bathroom is the size of a small closet with little room to place any amenities. Maid service though was good. It is easy to get around Pinehurst and to all of the golf courses from the hotel as they have shuttles running every few minutes. You can go all over using the shuttles which makes it very convenient. I also like the fact that once your golf clubs are sent to the course the staff moves them wherever you need to go the next day. If you play Pinehurst #2 and then have a tee time at Pinehurst #4 the next day your clubs will be ready when you get there. The hotel has a restaurant, bar, coffee shop and full scale gift shop that sells Pinehurst logo wear and souvenirs.
