Finally was able to get a reservation at Peter Luger's in Brooklyn using the Resy App. While every night was booked, I entered info to be notified if a table becomes available on two different days. The day before dining here I received a text saying that a reservation was available. Boom....we were in! Loved this place from the time I entered the door. The old school vibe, uniforms and employees were cool. I grabbed a glass of wine while waiting for our table and the bartender was very friendly. Just a note that this is an "all cash" restaurant so bring lots of hundreds or a debit card or personal check. No credit cards accepted. Our waiter has been working here for decades and he was very polite and gracious. He really made us feel welcome and appreciated. Started with the Bacon which is like candy. Loved it. Pro Tip:
Don't order the Bacon if you order the Wedge Salad. The Wedge has a lot of the same Bacon. The Wedge was delicious and there was more than enough for two people. We ordered (2) of the Rib Steaks (one per person) and quickly realized that one steak was enough for both of us. The Steak was really good but not my all-time favorite. Creamed Spinach was just ok and the Cheese Cake was not worth the carbs. Nice to get Peter Luger's off my Bucket List.
