I know this is a beloved, award winning and foodie haven restaurant that everyone raves about. I do however have to "call em, like I eat em". The food here sucks and I will never return. My wife who accompanied me on the lunch agreed and so have many people I have mentioned this too. We started with the Le Chicken Wings that is their signature dish and seemed like every table in the restaurant ordered. We waited so long that the waiter, who was great ran out of excuses. After over a half hour of waiting, he said he would have the kitchen fire the rest of our order so we could get some food. Geez I thought, you could have brought the Banh Mi Sandwich ages ago. The Banh Mi arrived and it was looking pretty good. Normally I like a lot of Pate, but this was a Pate overload. Would have preferred more Pickled Vegetables. We didn't even eat half of the sandwich between the two of us and took the other half home. We then continued to wait and continued to get apologies. The Chicken Wings finally arrived and the smell of Fish Sauce was so bad that it was making me sick. I had to place the plate on the other side of the table. The smell was so strong that it ruined the flavor of the Wings. I ate one Wing and did not like the taste. My wife ate one Wing and threw in the towel too. Our third dish, the Grilled Chicken still did not make it to the table so we asked the waiter to pack it up so we can take it home. He brought it out and I took one bite before he packed it up nicely for us. I would have preferred Huli Huli Chicken to this.
Sorry to write this because I know how loved this place is. Wish it was different experience for me because I want to support local family businesses.
