I don't spend much time on the Windward side of Oahu but had to go there to have my car detailed. The shop said it would take over an hour so I walked to the Windward Mall. Don't think I have ever been in this mall. Headed to the Food Court and the Lemongrass Kitchen caught my eye. Ordered a Pork Bahn Mi from a nice gentlemen who seemed like the owner because he cared about customer service. He personally made the sandwich, wrapped it up and offered me a bag and a big thank you. Sandwich was good.

I woke up at 3am and was in the office by 4am. Caught a flight to Kona at 7am and returned home at 6pm. Long day so I called my Wife and asked if she could pick up some Vietnamese food for dinner. She delivered some delicious Green Papaya Salad, Spring Rolls and a

Bahn Mi Sandwich. Perfect combination of flavors for me.

LUNCH AT THE OFFICE

We cannot get a good Sub, Hoagie or Italian Sandwich in Hawaii but we can get a good Vietnamese Bahn Mi. This is probably one of my favorite sandwiches and Ba-Le does it better than just about anyone. I always order the Special Sandwich with Cheese. No Mayo, extra veggies with Sriracha Sauce. When the bread is fresh (and it was not today) this is an epic sandwich. Even though the bread was a bit hard and crusty the ingredients were delicious.

The Ba-Le Special Sandwich is one of my favorite sandwiches in Hawaii. I order it with American Cheese, no mayo and extra pickled vegetables. Add lots of Sriracha Sauce for heat and flavor.

So good when the bread is warm and fresh.

Stopped into the Beachwalk Cafe on a recent visit to Waikiki with my Daughter. Ordered up a couple of sandwiches at the counter and then ate them outside overlooking Kalia Road. I went for the BBQ Chicken Banh Mi and my Daughter ordered the Chicken Pesto Panini. Ordered my Banh Mi with extra vegetables and the obliged. Not a bad sandwich at all. My Daughter liked the Chicken Pesto.
