My office ate at Uncle's Chicken in Kalihi yesterday and many of them liked it so much they went again today. I jumped on the bandwagon today and ordered the Two Piece Leg Quarters for $11.25. The Chicken was very crispy and moist on the inside. Pretty good flavor. The sauce that came with it packed a bit of heat which made it even better. While I prefer Jollibee Chicken with Gravy, this is pretty good stuff.

LUNCH AT THE OFFICE

I was going to eat light this week and try to drop a few pounds. Then my customer brings this lunch from Jollibee to my office. Spicy Fried Chicken, Corn, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy and an extra container of Gravy to dip the Chicken in. My Goodness this is "Chicken Crack". Totally addicting and delicious. The Spicy Chicken really does have a nice kick of heat and the Chicken is totally moist. When you dip the Chicken into the Pepper Gravy it is Chicken Heaven. This is the BEST Fried Chicken and Gravy ever. I could eat this every day of the week. Try Jollibee Fried Chicken and Gravy if you have one near you. This is a chain from the Philippines with restaurants in Hawaii and California.

My office showed me a menu for Pancakes and Waffles BLD in Kalihi and said we were eating there for lunch. Without hesitation I said Fried Chicken and Waffles. It was weird because I had been thinking about Fried Chicken and Waffles for sometime. I couldn't wait to try it. The Waffle was a bit dry and bland but I liked the Fried Chicken. Super crispy and extra delicious with the Honey Butter. I could only eat half and will definitely go back here for Fried Chicken and Waffles.

My beloved Grandma would always enjoy taking the family to Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant at Knott's Berry Farm. Back in the day this was a dining treat for special occasions that brought our family together for a few special hours. We brought back 15 family members this trip and enjoyed a great dinner and most importantly time with our family. 79 year old Mom was there along with my 50 something year old brother and sister and their families. We started with Garlic Fries and BBQ Chicken Wings for the table. The Fries were delicious and the wings were meaty and had some heat. Not bad at all. Most went for the Chicken Dinner which for $14.95 is a bargain. You get a salad and your choice chicken noodle soup or rhubarb soup. The salad was perfect starter after the fresh baked biscuits served with Knott's famous jellies. The chicken soup was thick and hearty. The rhubarb soup was not my favorite. There were three huge pieces of chicken on the plate served with a pile of mashed potatoes and good dose of gravy. When you mix the chicken with a scoop of mashed potatoes and gravy it was a symphony of flavor that cannot be beat. The meal also includes your choice of fresh baked pie or ice creme for desert. We also tried the BBQ Ribs which did not get the best taste reviews. The Chicken Fried Steak was a crowd pleaser. The Macaroni and Cheese I was told was a bit bland. All and all this was an incredible meal because it brought together our family who only see each other once a year at best.
