So lucky to live in Hawaii and enjoy incredible fresh Ahi most of the year.  This small block of Ahi cost $21 at Foodland Farms and it was more than enough for two.  When the Ahi is this fresh, it cuts like butter and melts in your mouth.  A HUGE difference from most store and restaurant bought Ahi which is injected with carbon manoxide to keep the deep red color.  You heard me right "carbon monoxide".  We always try to buy fresh non-treated Ahi and can tell the difference from the treated Ahi when it is served in restaurants and in Poke.

When I shop at Foodland Farms in Aina Haina, I always check the Seafood Department for fresh Ahi.  Saw this very nice block for around $20 and grabbed it.  This was "wow" fresh and so silky and melt in your mouth delicious.

Believe it or not this is one of our all time favorite dinners.  Sashimi and Avocado and that's it.  When the Sashimi is fresh like this the flavor is amazing.  Melts like butter in your mouth.

Never get sick of eating or posting my fave Sashimi and Avocado.  So lucky to live in Hawaii where fresh Ahi is abundant.  A little expensive though at $40 per pound.  Glad it only takes a little to satisfy my cravings.

This was a perfect dinner on the lanai.  Super fresh Mahi Mahi with a Truffle Cream Sauce, Sautéed vegetables and Sashimi with Avocado.

Living in Hawaii means we are blessed with incredible fresh Ahi.  I cannot resist a bright red glossy slab and when I see it looking like this just have to buy it.  I cut it thin and enjoy with a little Shoyu and Wasabi along with Avocado.

Cannot resist buying a small block of Ahi when it is this fresh.  I cut it thin and serve with sliced Avocado.  Probably one of my favorite things to eat in Hawaii.

Pretty much one of our all-time favorite appetizers and something we are blessed to enjoy often living in Hawaii.  This Ahi block was pure heaven.  Bright red, glossy and so delicious.  Only problem is fresh Ahi is around $40 a pound right now.

I love buying a fresh block of Ahi and cutting my own Sashimi.  When the Ahi is fresh, there is no better appetizer.  This is a family fave!

Was not planning on having Ahi Sashimi as an appetizer but when I saw this fresh block of Ahi at the market, I just had to have it. Bright red and glossy which means it is going to be good.  Served up with some sliced Avocado with Soy/Wasabi Sauce.  Fave!
