Time and time again the Ahi Sashimi at Duke's Barefoot Bar blows my mind.  Some of the freshest Ahi on the planet.  Always bright red and glossy.  This isn't the chemically treated stuff you get at most restaurants.  This is the real deal and it melts in your mouth.

No place I would rather end the week in Honolulu.  The Kahala Resort is my Happy Place.  Sitting here alone with my thoughts and the view is the best way to decompress.  I always enjoy the fresh Sashimi when it is available and this order did not disappoint.  So fresh that it melted in my mouth with a delicate flavor that was just amazing!

Nothing beats ending the work week at The Kahala Resort.  My Happy Place is the perfect spot to relax, unwind, reflect and give thanks.  Sitting here alone clears my mind and helps me reset.  Love the Ahi Sashimi which on this visit was fresher than fresh.  Melt in your mouth delicious.  Also enjoyed the Turkey Club which is served with some of the best French Fries on the Island.  Blessed to live so close to this beautiful resort!

Another favorite after returning from a mainland trip is fresh Ahi Sashimi. When you can get Ahi this fresh it is a meal unto itself.  Delicious!

This dinner of Fresh Mahi Mahi and Sashimi was the bomb.  Ten times better than the $80 per person buffet at the Hyatt.  The Mahi was on sale so this meal for three cost less than $40.  The fresh Ahi was expensive at $42 per pound so this little block was $18.  Made a simple sauce using Butter, White Wine, Chicken Stock, Heavy Cream and Capers.  Restaurant quality at home and so delicious!

I cannot resist a bright red and glossy block of Ahi.  When it looks like this you just have to buy it.  Cuts like butter and melts in your mouth.  My fave!

Living in Hawaii means we are blessed with incredible fresh Ahi.  I cannot resist a bright red glossy slab and when I see it looking like this just have to buy it.  I cut it thin and enjoy with a little Shoyu and Wasabi along with Avocado.

This is one of our favorite appetizers or meals.  On this night it was dinner.  When the Ahi is this fresh I always thank the Lord that we live in Hawaii with great fresh fish.

Friday lunch at the office and it has to be non meat.  Went for a little fresh Ahi Salad from Ahi and Vegetable while my employees went to Zippy's for high carb food next door.  Liked the Ahi and fresh greens but the dressing was terrible.  Did not taste fresh and had an aftertaste that I could not stomach.

Can't get enough of the incredible fresh Sashimi available here in Hawaii.  Made this plate of Sashimi from a $14 block of Ahi.  So fresh it melted like butter in your mouth.

We are loving the abundance of fresh Ahi in Hawaii.  I got this beautiful block for $10 and made a platter of Sashimi with fresh Avocado and Japanese Cucumbers.  A slice of Sashimi and Avocado together dipped in Shoyu/Wasabi Sauce is heaven.  This platter didn't last long.

Mother's Day weekend and I offered to make my Wife anything she wants for dinner Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  For the Friday night appetizer she chose Sashimi which the entire family loves.  With fresh fish being abundant because restaurants are closed, I was able to score a beautiful block for Grade A Ahi for under $10.  When the fish is this bright and shiny red like this you know it will be good.  Oh...and this was one of the best ever!
