OTORO WITH AVOCADO AND MANGO SALSA

DINNER AT HOME

Picked up some Otoro (Fatty Tuna) on a trip to Hilo.  Made this delicious Poke Stack using the Otoro, Avocado and a refreshing Mango Salsa topped with a Balsamic Glaze.  The Mango Salsa paired perfectly with the Fatty Tuna and made this dish incredible.

Had a business dinner to prepare for huge events I am hosting in August and September.  Decided to hold the meeting at Izakaya Matsuri because my guests wanted Sushi.  They requested that I order so I went with all of my favorites including Hokkaido Crab, Otoro, Toronaido Roll, Hamachi Kama and a new fave which is the Wagyu Sushi.  Wow....just cannot get enough of this place and already want to go back.

Cannot say enough good things about Izakaya Matsuri.  Just love the food here.
Pretty much sticking to all of my faves at this point.  The dishes below are my "go to" items that keep me coming back.

Another PERFECT dinner at Izakaya Matsuri.  The best Hokkaido Crab, Hamachi Kama and Otoro ever.  Love this place so much!

BEST BITES OF 2026 - OTORO AT IZAKAYA MATSURI

This is a Best Bite year after year because it is one of my favorite bites ever.  The super fresh Otoro at Izakaya Matsuri is amazing.  At $14 per bite it is not cheap but if you want the best you gotta pay the price.  Love it.  Love it. Love it!

Izakaya Matsuri is one of my favorite restaurants in Honolulu.  Love this small little restaurant  that serves up high quality Sushi and Japanese specialties.  We always order the Hokkaido Crab but on this visit they had run out.  Ordered the Hamachi Kama instead and it was amazing.  Probably one of the best in Hawaii.  The basic House Salad comes alive with the homemade dressing that kicks up the flavor of the greens big time.  I LOVE the Otoro here.  Probably one of the best bites of the year.  The fatty tuna has a delicate flavor and melts in your mouth.  Also LOVE the Toroneido Roll with Toro Tuna and Avocado.  So fresh that it makes me saw "wow" with every bite.   The Sweet Shrimp with the fried heads is my wife's favorite.  I like them too.  Cannot go wrong here and I will be back again soon!

LOVE Izakaya Matsuri for Sushi and Japanese food.  Service is always friendly and the seafood is always super fresh.  The Hokkaido Hairy Crab and Uni cannot be beat and the Sushi Rolls are unbelievable.  We always order the Hamachi Kama as it is one of the best in Hawaii.  One word to describe this place is Quality!
